Job summary

The General Accounting role offered is specific to Project Accounting (OPA) within the Project Accounting Sub-ledger. To be successful in this role you should have a clear understanding of US GAAP and Project Accounting processing from end to end, including but not limited to capitalization of assets, labor distribution and fringe benefits. Furthermore, working knowledge of a global ERP system (preferably Oracle R12) is greatly beneficial.

The primary duties of this position are maintaining the Project Accounting sub-ledger within the Oracle ERP system. This will include updating the Project Accounting records, performing the month-end and quarter-end close processes. This role also requires monthly reconciliations and audit support. You will also be required to maintain effective internal controls and ensure accounting activities are US GAAP compliant. Additionally, there will be ad-hoc projects to help streamline and update the processes and reporting. 

Note that this position will work extensively with counter-parts within the US. Thus, command of the English language is mandatory.

Responsibilities:
Project Accounting and Monthly Close Activities: 
Perform OPA month to month activities ensuring compliance with policy and support OPA counter-parts.
Assist in the Oracle Project Accounting sub-ledger close process.
Review and analyze Construction-In-Progress aging balances to ensure assets are timely placed in-service. Proactively communicate with project analyst and managers to achieve this task.
Review and analyze Oracle Project Accounting sub-ledger data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and GAAP compliance
Prepare analysis for CIP accounts and additional reporting as needed for management and SEC reporting.
Prepare schedules in support of internal and external audit process and requirements.
Work closely with Fixed Asset Accounting team (FA) to ensure alignment and proper compliance with FA policies and reporting.
Provide customer support to operational teams regarding CIP related matters.
Ensures ongoing compliance with SOX.
Support ad-hoc requests for preparing and providing information as and when required


Requirements:
Experience with a multinational company. 
Required to work Night Shifts to overlap with US time zones for at least two weeks in a month
Strong knowledge on capitalization, depreciation, asset reconciliations, conceptually strong in asset adjustments, preparation of journals 
Hands on experience on Oracle R12 is preferred
Hands on experience on MS office (Excel, Word etc.)
Proactive and problem solving attitude
Speaking and Writing English
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines
Is a team player
