Hadoop COE -Developer
Preferably Cloudera Hadoop Developer Certification or any other certification is also considered
Hands on Hadoop development
Location - Pune
Understanding in typical system administration and programming skills such as storage capacity management, performance tuning
Good knowledge in setup, configuration and management of security for Hadoop clusters using Kerberos and integration with LDAP/AD at an Enterprise level
Understands server tuning concepts (parameters, resources, contention, etc)
Backup / Restore/ Disaster Recovery experience preferred
Proven ability in managing databases of 1-10TB in size (Vertica, Greenplum, Netezza, AsterData, Paracel, Exadata)
Preferred Additional Experience
Experience integrating with Enterprise BI platforms such as Spotfire, Tableau, QlikView, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, etc
Hardware knowledge (including network, disk subsystems, etc)
Good Knowledge and expertise with ODBC/JDBC data connectivity
Experience in ETL/ELT workflow management
Understanding and ability to participate in all phases of the SDLC including requirements gathering, business analysis, configuration management and quality control
Key Responsibilities -
Manage one or more of the following activities (concerning new or existing hardware and software technology components or enhancements to existing components): research, analysis, selection, planning, and engineering.
Manages collaboration with other Service Engineers IT Architects, vendors, and business clients to ensure that the modified hardware and software technology components interact appropriately, data conversion impacts are considered, and other areas of impact are addressed and meet performance requirements.
Manage efforts to test, debug, support, and analyze performance, and document hardware and software technology components.
Manage efforts to implement new and emerging hardware and software technology, perform highly complex product customization for multiple configurations, develop implementation and verification procedures to ensure successful new and emerging enterprise-wide systems hardware/software.
Plan and manage all activities associated with the purchasing, support and administration of the hardware and software technology component.
Manage complex hardware and software technology component analysis, and evaluation on resource requirements necessary to maintain and/or expand service levels or tune hardware and software technology components for optimum performance.
Manage efforts to ensure that plans integrate effectively with other aspects of the technical hardware and software technology components including representing security standards.
Resolve highly complex or critical incidents, logging and communicating issues and resolutions.
Review and approve major and significant changes for purposes of incident avoidance.
Create, review and update configuration management plans related to code promotion based on information systems and business requirements.
Lead efforts to analyze and resolve complex incidents and problems and balance the workload against incident priorities. Ensure all related incidents and problems are appropriately resolved.
Provide input and technical guidance in project management, planning, task definition, estimating, reporting, scheduling, and workflow.
Analyze variances and initiate effectiveness or efficiency improvements in the organization, standards, procedures or methods.
Develop plans to meet required service levels; design data collection and reporting mechanisms for application/infrastructure health reporting.
Direct the security work of more junior engineers serving as Subject Matter Expert for security requirements within areas of responsibility
Review and validate accuracy of Hadoop project related estimates.
Participate as a member of development teams as the Hadoop Admin
Significant experience and a complete understanding of large scale Hadoop environments in the build and support therein. Including design, capacity planning, cluster set up, performance tuning and monitoring
Provide Hadoop Architecture Consulting to Customer in support of solution design activities.
Positively represent the Hadoop team and ISG to clients. Fully understand Hadoop i.e. scripting, config, install and capacity planning.
Demonstrate technical leadership and provide consultation outside of immediate Hadoop team.
Contribute to strategic direction for overall architecture and operations.
Consult with team members and other business AORs, clients and vendors on complex issues.
Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems.
Consult with internal and external customers in optimal design of data, storage and maintenance projections.
