Job Description

Summary: 

As a Lead Test Engineer you will provide Technical leadership for the test team, you will be an SME in System Testing/Software Testing/Product Testing. Verify the quality of the requirements, including testability, requirement definition, test design, test-script and test-data development, test automation, test-environment configuration; test-script configuration management, and test execution you will conduct test-design and test-procedure walk through and Implement test-process improvements resulting from lessons learned and benefits surveys. You will mentor team members on New Product Domains, Testing Methodologies & Processes.

• First point of contact within engineering with external customer. Resolves external customer issues at advanced engineering level. Lead customer presentations.
• Works with general direction. Identifies & manages many of own assignments.
• Skilled at customer presentations and communicating and influencing internal customers (across functions and upwards). Documentation is professional and frequent with virtually all technical work formally captured.
• Able to apply several engineering concepts and develop/derive new solutions for a specific problem. Able to quickly generate numerous alternative solution paths, and objectively down-select to several technically promising alternatives based on sound reasoning.
• Responsible for assuring the test plan development and execution for projects assigned to the test team are on time, within budget, and provide proper test coverage of the product under test.
• Ensures that Test Competencies processes are defined, documented and updated as needed.
• Ensures automated testing methods our being utilized and delivered by the team on time, within budget, and with sufficient test coverage for testing a product or system.
• Capable of leading and over-seeing the result analyzes and reporting of testing sessions, providing over-sight and auditing of the test plan completion by team members. Master in looking at the test data in determining of more testing should be ran in order to determine deeper understanding of a potential problem reported during testing. Capable of providing deeper data communication and reporting to the Business Teams as needed.

Required Competencies 

• Experience in performing Firmware and preferably Application testing
• Solid understanding of software and Firmware Test Design Life Cycle
• Experience in Scripting languages would be added advantage
• Familiarity with agile development processes and methodologies
• Programming languages understanding and preferably some experience in C programing
• Working knowledge in developing unit test cases and the surrounding test environment
• Ability to interact with Development team and system engineering to resolve requirements issues
• Onsite experience in testing at customer or partner sites would be beneficial
• Excellent communication and written skills 
• Must demonstrate flexibility in work hours to meet important customer deliverables and project deadlines as required

• Desired Competencies
• Experience in NI Teststand and LabView programming
• Experience in scripting languages like Perl and VB
• Experience with test frameworks is crucial
• Experience with integrated test environments would be added advantage
• Good system level debugging skills are an advantage.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple projects to completion on schedule in a dynamic and fast paced environment 
• Willing to travel occasionally across geographical boundaries
